Dr Paula Richardson (BDS Wits) – Cosmetic dentist for the Southwest and beyond
Paula graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa in 1986 and has been practicing in the United Kingdom since 1990. She worked in London for 10 years before relocating to Ilchester, Somerset in 2000 to improve the quality of life for her and her family.
Dentistry is more than just a profession to Paula - it is her passion. From the outset she has worked hard to transform her practice in Ilchester into a leading dental practice (both general and cosmetic) in the United Kingdom. She invests many hours of her time each year in attending the world’s leading postgraduate courses both here and abroad. By doing this she has been able to bring dentistry at its best and Hollywood smiles to the West Country.
Paula has achieved the Masters Level from the Aesthetic advantage continuum of New York - one of less than 2 % of dentists in the whole of the UK to have achieved this. This elite and prestigious program is respected throughout the cosmetic dentistry field in the United States, United Kingdom, and abroad.
Not all cosmetic dentists are the same. When it comes to a feature that you wear 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, why entrust it to anyone but the best?
Paula is a member of the British Dental Association, British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, British Society of Occlusal studies.
Paula is married to James Nankervis and has two lovely girls, Kate and Kristin. They moved to the West Country from London in 2000 for a healthier lifestyle.
Susan Peach - Hygienist
Susan is our very efficient and highly valued oral Hygienist. She works very closely with Paula in the management of our patient's periodontal (tissues around the tooth) health. Her aim is to help patients maintain good oral health, thus helping to prevent tooth loss and other dental problems. Susan started her career as a dental nurse in Somerset, then moved to Scotland where she first worked in St Andrews then went to university in Edinburgh to train as a dental hygienist. Thankfully the call of the south west drew her back to Somerset. In her spare time Susan enjoys walking with her fiance and her dog, camping in the summer and skiing trips in the winter. As a form of relaxation she enjoys pilates.

Sarah Bird is my right hand lady in the operatory as well as our treatment co-ordinator. Should you have any questions about dentistry or facial rejuvination please call Sarah for a free consultation with her. Sarah is an enthusiastic, fun-loving member of the team and is really great at putting patients at ease.
Tilly Coote - We welcomed Tilly to our team in August. She, too is a motivated team member assisting in both surgeries and reception.
James Nankervis – He holds the place together – our wonderful practice manager who keeps the rest of the female team well grounded.
Jonathan Macartney is getting some work experience with us before going back to university to do his degree in dentistry.
Our practice is a member of the British Dental Association's Good Practice Scheme.
This means that we are committed to a standard of good practice set by our professional association.
